Speed of operation  HydraNuts are simply screwed onto the service bolts by hand, connected together with flexible hydraulic hoses with quick couplings, and then all nuts are pressurised simultaneously. Around 2 hours is all that is required to tighten or remove the Turbine horizontal joint bolts. Furthermore, the vertical joint can also be tightened in a similar timescale. This saves many hours on both installation and removal when compared to current methods.

No modifications  there are no modifications required to either the bolting or the casing. The nuts are threaded to fit the service bolts and are a direct replacement for the existing nuts.

Ease of operation  a simple hydraulic pump is all that is required to operate the HiTemp HydraNuts. Top lockring gives good access to lock the retained bolt load. Quick Connect Couplings are quickly and easily connected and removed.

Accuracy a known load is applied to the bolts (pressure x hydraulic pressure area). The unique lockring threadform ensures that the maximum residual load is retained from this applied load.

Reliability the seal arrangement ensures maximum flexibility and ensures efficient sealing. Bespoke coating technology ensures ease of removal. Bolt damage will not occur with the use of this system under correct usage. Bolts tightened using conventional methods are subject to damage, which eventually results in bolt seizure and the resulting in forced nut removal, outage delays, and costly bolt replacements.

Compact  the use of the patented threadform lockring in conjunction with the FEA proven design allows optimum load to diameter ratio.

Safety  less handling of heavy equipment often required when using traditional bolt tightening methods.

No crane intervention  the lightweight nature of the nuts ensures that the work is undertaken using only manpower, thus eliminating crane use as required with other detachable tools.

Eliminates bolt replacement  on the majority of in-service turbines, the HiTemp HydraNut is a replacement for the conventional service nut. It is simply screwed onto the existing bolt thus eliminating the replacement of the bolts often essential for detachable tools that requires longer bolts.

Crossover problem solver  the reduced headroom requirements of the HydraNut and the elimination of the need for rotational space for torque devices provides the nuts with access to all of the bolts local to the intersection of the horizontal and vertical joints and to be evenly, accurately and uniformly tightened.
